At some point, it doesn’t really matter what we say about ourselves. The proof is in the pudding, right?
Over the years, we have been lucky enough to work with dozens of amazing freelancers and business owners. Below are some nice things that some of them had to say.
"Courtney/Homeroom takes the complex tasks of running a successful business, pricing, and marketing and explains them in a way that is game changing. Her translation of fundamental business tips to the artistic fields has been SO helpful. I can not recommend her and her workshops highly enough. If you truly want to make the business side of this field work, I would really encourage you attend her workshops or hire her to mentor you. It is worth every penny and hour spent."
"I participated in the Study hours in Atlanta GA. This class gave me a lot of information on marketing and finances that would allow me to make immediate changes to my business that would help me in the future. The information was easy to catch on to and Courtney walked us through each part of the paperwork. I am glad I participated and I am already starting to see changes in my business."
"Working with Courtney as an awesome, eye-opening experience. She has a way of taking a hard subject and making it fun and approachable. I walked away feeling more confident and excited for my financial future. Knowing your worth is empowering!"
"Courtney's finance workshop is so thoroughly thought out. It covers all the things you need to plan for financial success in an understandable, easy to digest way. Whether you've been in business for 2 years or 12 years, this workshop covers the gamut and is so helpful. If you need to get a better understanding and planning for financial success, you need this workshop."
I attended Homeroom Study Hours in Denver, which included two study hours, “Book More Ideal Clients” and “Make Your Cash Flow.” I have a Bachelors degree in Accounting and worked in public accounting for six years, and I still found the “Make Your Cash Flow” class extremely beneficial and was actually my favorite of the two. I have only been in business for one year, and taking this class has helped set the foundation for what I should be doing as a small business owner and the things I should be thinking about, in order to set myself up for success. Based on my background, I know an extensive amount of business and accounting concepts, but applying them to my own photography business has been an entire different ball game and quite challenging. Courtney did a great job of taking fundamental accounting concepts and explaining how they are relevant to a photography business and how to actually apply them to our own business. Courtney is extremely intelligent, knowledgeable, and her simple, real life examples are entirely valuable. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to take this class so early on in my entrepreneurial journey and know that it will be so beneficial for my financial future. I highly recommend these study hours to any creative! Thank you Homeroom!
"If you want to make a living with your passion you must learn the business side of things (sales, prices, marketing etc), and Homeroom is the best place to get those skills. They literally take you by hand and teach you all you need to know to be successful."
“It’s no secret that sometimes the best artists don’t always make the best business people! To be a successful artist, your business must THRIVE! I want to be able to make a living to support my family, travel, and retire …while also being able to satisfy the creative art maker that lies within. Courtney has shown that this success doesn’t have to be haphazard luck! She has created valuable and usable tools to help creatives succeed in a smart and financial way. It is so refreshing having a real person to talk to who understands the industry, the challenges, can ask the right questions to help guide some choices and provide real tools that are essential in making sure you know your numbers so you can make smart choices. I would highly recommend her!”
Being both a creative and a business owner and starting on your own two feet, it can get a little confusing and intimidating to start a new venture like photography. I always felt like there should be a way where creatives could learn more about the business side of things and when I came across Creative Homeroom I was very impressed with how Courtney was able to make the curriculum both relatable and relevant to running a successful business. The way she presented the material was very professional but at the same time she kept it interactive by having us break out into sessions where we worked on learning the concepts on our own. I really loved the session and would definitely consider investing more of my time into classes like this to help me and my business succeed!
"I love how excited Courtney is to get her expert content out. I am grateful for her thoughtful communication style and beyond satisfied that I signed up for her in depth business workshops."
"In the past, I kept thinking that I will organize the business side of things 'one day'. It wasn't until I actually sat down with Courtney and went through my numbers that I realized 'holy crap', there is so much that I wasn't even considering! There were so many pieces that I was just rounding in my head that actually added up to a significant amount of money. Once we started working together I was finally able to wrap my head around pricing in a way that I can pay all of my bills and pay myself instead of guessing. Making the investment in Homeroom has empowered me to create a more sustainable business model, and actually be able to pay myself regularly instead of just during peak wedding season."
